Out door bridal Inspiration is some what a little more on our mind today. With a slight glimmer of hope that spring might just be around the corner. Cannot quite believe it either. Cue- an ideal opportunity today to take a look at some out door bridal inspirations. Stripping back the props and over styled back drops, sometimes the beauty of our British landscape can be all that is needed to show off bridal fashion at it’s finest. Recently we caught up with Bridal Boutique Owner Joanna about one of her most recent shoots with a fantastic line up of other wedding industry suppliers. And today we feel completely honoured to share these images with you.
WORDS FROM JOANNA
Inspiration behind this out door bridal inspiration shoot?
“We wanted to capture a wintery sunrise and the morning light with a crisp frost in the images. Our idea was for the styling to be dramatic with clean natural colourings. The oak barn surrounded by fields and with it’s very own lake was an idyllic setting. The team wanted to use different outside areas including the banks, woodland area and of course the barn. The ceremony set up was in keeping with the outdoors as we used our birch arch with white material and plenty of candles alongside the florals which were striking and wild again reflecting the location.”
The most important question – the dresses?
“Both dresses used on the shoot are by Catriona Garforth bridal. Woburn bridal is the only English stockist of this luxury Scottish designer. We used the ‘galiah’ made of beautiful patterned chiffon with a deep v neckline and separate long sleeve jacket. The dress has a stunningly low back and flowing long train. The dress is a perfect combination of both glam and boho. The second dress ‘Arella’ is an intricate sheer lace dress with a silk skirt overlay and hot pants underneath. The silk flows and flutters around the body and the sheer under skirt adds a modern twist to the look.”
Talk to us about the styling?
“We styled both dresses with beautifully knitwear by Kelly Spence Bridal accessory design. ‘Galiah’ was styled with the super luxe Skye mohair wrap. The perfect cover up for the modern bride. The boho tassels worked beautifully with the lace of the dress and created a look perfect for the free spirited bride. The second knitwear piece was the ‘Athol’ long line cardigan with long sleeves and a train. The super fine knit glided over the silk skirt of ‘arella’ and created texture.”
Hair and Makeup- What was the look you went for and how was this achieved?
“Make Up Artist Dani Roberts went with a flawless face and brows with a striking red lip to contrast with the rustic venue and countryside. Using MAC ruby woo on the lips and a golden highlighter on the cheekbones, it created warmth and dimension to the look.”
“Hair stylist Leva Genovesi went for full of volume with a slightly vintage style to match the deep lip colour and lovely eyeliner by Dani. This look was achieved with large diameter heated rollers and slight backcombing as well as brushing the curls out to get the flowing form. The second look (arella) was purposely full using the models beautiful thick to achieve the natural hairstyle but still with plenty of volume and some wave to it. Finally, she braided the front with some fresh curls at the back. It matched the beautiful surroundings and the design created by all the talented suppliers on the day.”
